Spring Break in the Isle of Wight

Home

Our Spring Break in 2009 was held at Warner's Bembridge Coast Hotel right on the edge of the sea. Some 20 of our members, their wives and guests took part and most stayed for four nights. The weather was superb throughout the holiday and the hotel was excellent, providing a varied menu and a wide range of activities. Those most popular for our group were the table tennis and scrabble.

We all took advantage of the good weather to explore the island and visit some of its attractions. Popular destinations were Osborne House, a favourite of Queen Victoria, and Mottistone Manor Gardens. On one of the afternoons, an informal petanque competition was held which seemed to be enjoyed by all those who played.

Thanks must go to Wolfgang Hamann who conceived and organised what turned out to be a very memorable and fun-filled holiday.
